What is the Argentinian peso called?

Argentina's currency is called the Argentine peso, currency code ARS and symbol $. People usually just call it the 'peso' (plural 'pesos'). In everyday slang, a peso is sometimes a 'mango', and a thousand pesos is a 'luca'.

The full name is the Argentine peso (sometimes written "Argentinian peso"). Its three-letter ISO code is ARS, and it shares the dollar sign, $, which is why it is often written as AR$ to avoid confusion with the US dollar. Its subunit, the centavo, has effectively vanished from use.
